Today was spent cleaning and cooking. Caleb helped me make chocolate cake balls which were super yummy. I have also made it a personal goal to keep myself busy with keeping the house as close to perfectly clean as possible. Ever since Ciara got a sick tummy a couple days back she is having a hard time going potty again. She ended up peeing all over the floor twice so I just gave up and put a diaper on her. We have decided to get her bedtime routine more strict so we only rock her for about 5 min after we read to both kids, then we lay her in her bed and she has been doing very well with falling asleep. At first she tried to suffocate herself in her pillow but it only took one time of turning purple for that to stop. Tonight she did really well. Caleb has had a hard time listening recently. We got into a couple of fights today because I would repeat myself over and over again before he would even pay attention. I think we are all just antsy and ready to play outside but the weather is not behaving. Ben is working on his MCPD certificate to help with his job (and future jobs) so he has some new goals as well. The best part of the day is when I let the kids lick the chocolate covered spoons and chocolate was everywhere. I love when my kids get messy. We also have a crayon thief on our hands… we went to color and we only had three crayons left in our big box, so I went out and bought lots more for tomorrow. I plan on decorating the playroom with the kids artwork they do. I love the idea of all different shape frames hanging all over the room with the kids work in them. In the picture Caleb is pushing Ciara in her doll stroller. She is almost to big to fit in it. Before bed she sat in it and demanded that someone push her. Caleb usually runs around before bed so he was glad to go on hyper speed to push her around the house. That poor stroller almost broke making those quick corners. I dont know what we would have done if it broke, its her favorite toy. Ciara loves pushing her dolls around the house.  It was a good long day 🙂

Today the weather was so bad! I dont know what it is about the wind but it scares me. I always worry about the damage to my home. So because it was cold and nasty outside we decided to bake cupcakes. Caleb wanted strawberry cupcakes and he made them almost completely by himself.

I measured the ingredients but he did everything else. It felt like Ciara had cried all of the day until we started decorating the cupcakes. Her whole attitude changed. She has a bit of a runny nose so I think there is one last stretch of new teeth and she should be all better. Caleb wanted to frost and decorate each cupcake. We made them mini cupcakes and we had 4 batches so there were tons. I decided to freeze some so we could decorate when the weather was bad again. Caleb was so serious about icing each cupcake just right. I laid out a cookie sheet with 3 cupcakes and lots of sprinkles and Ciara went to town. It cheered all of us up.

Today was so nice outside! We decided to go to the park, it was jacket weather which seems so strange because yesterday we had a winter storm. Ciara put a damper on our trip, she went down the slide once when she fell to the ground. She then held her breath, had a seizure and wouldn’t wake up for over 20 minuetes. While she was asleep or unconscious (I dont know) I laid her down on the slide and Caleb and I played. Once she woke up we enjoyed our time. Caleb is such a good big brother helping his little sister onto the playground. I love to see them play together.

When we got home Ciara walked all over the house in my high heels. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen!

Grandpa took Caleb to school today and before he left Grandpa sprayed him with some cologne. He told Caleb that all the girls would be all over him because he smelled so good. When Caleb got into the car when I picked him up he told me that he asked Layla (his girlfriend) to smell him. “She said she was in love” he said as he blushed and rolled his eyes. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen him do!!!

Kaiah’s birthday was themed Minnie mouse and the house was all girly. Everyone wore ears and it was just adorable. Caleb spend the weekend with his Grandpa. They went to the Lorax movie on Saturday and the rest of the weekend was spent just helping out with chores. Grandpa said the funniest part of the weekend was when Caleb took a bath, he stepped out for a moment and when he came back Caleb had drained all the water and soaped himself up and was slipping and spinning all over the bathtub. Grandma was in Idaho this weekend and it was wonderful that Caleb could spend some much needed time with his Grandpa.

After the birthday party Aaron, Josh, Jessica, baby Mac, Ben, Ciara and I all went to Ben’s favorite place to eat, Pho. It is Vietnamese soup that Ben used to eat every week when he worked in Orem. Everyone enjoyed themselves, maybe a little to much. We didn’t want the night to end so we asked my mother-in-law to watch the girls and we spontaneously decided to play laser tag. It was overpriced and didn’t last long enough but loved the company and let out a little stress. 

This weekend was cousin Kaiah’s 2nd Birthday and cousin Maisie’s baby blessing. Kasie and Jer held a party on Saturday and then another party on Sunday for the blessing. We attended both these events and love all the company of the family.

Today has been a very humbling day. Ciara has had a belly ache for a couple days but today has been the worst of it. We both woke up to her throwing up, I don’t think she has a bug but more likely her teeth coming in. She likes to chew on my shirt and the sleeve of her coat. My mother told me that I ran high fevers and had experienced the quick step whenever I got new teeth. So she is miserable.

Ben has had some trouble with a co-worker which he worked out some problems with today. A little heart to heart talk proved to help their issues. There is also a better position open in the company which would be a great opportunity. We talked about all the benefits we receive with Xango and it seems to be a sad thought to live without them. He will be applying for that position. This job may have better potential then we thought.

Caleb had a great day. First he played with his grandpa who came to visit, then he visited a friends house (Jacob) who he hasn’t seen in a while. He loves to make up stories recently, especially about bad or scary dreams. I find myself trying to get a word in when he is around.

With my parents coming to visit (they now live in Orem) I had company which always makes me happy. My mom and I played a dance game on the wii. It is the most fun I have had in a long time. I plan on doing it again. All in all I found today as a humbling day with family and friends. 🙂

PS let it be known that I hate when Ben has to stay late for work. Seems like he is gone FOREVER! Glad the weekend is coming up 🙂
